Good Vibes, Please.

13 Jul

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya! 🙂

It’s Tuesday, and what does that mean in the Three Month household? PHONE INTERVIEW!

For that reason, this post will be short. Very short. But I promise you this: you’ll get a sweet post tonight where I share 10 facts about myself in honor of the Sugar Doll Award I received yesterday from Allison over at One Day at a Time…thanks, girl!

Ok, so I do have a favor to ask of you. If you can send good vibes, positive thoughts and encouraging prayers my way this afternoon, I’d love you forever. 😀

You all have already been so supportive during this job hunt – I can’t thank you enough for the kind comments and inspiring emails. You have no idea how grateful I am to receive such support!

I know I’m not the only one who’s tackling fears and dealing with unknown situations. So…

If you need some encouraging words from me (and other readers!) – please leave a comment! It doesn’t need to be too personal – just “hey, please keep me in your thoughts tonight.” Or… “I’m trying out a new recipe – pray that I don’t burn down the house.” 😉

Thanks again, friends. You’re the best!

Best. Email. Ever.

8 Jul

Friends, I received the best email last night. Well, at least the best email for a girl who’s on the job hunt…

Remember how I was just complaining yesterday? (Sorry for letting out my frustration on the blog, but you were all so encouraging…thanks!)

Well, those 10 applications turned into 1 phone interview! Ha, my application to interview odds are rather great, huh?! 😉

Anyway, I am so ecstatic. This was the definite pick-me-up I needed. And although I think I would be perfect for this position, I’m not going to allow myself to fall in love with this particular position.

I read on the company’s website that only 3% of people interviewed actually get offered the job – high stakes!

BUT I am so happy that all of the time spent on applying to jobs is being rewarded. If anything, I will gain great experience by interviewing with this company.

This phone interview reassures me that I do have a competitive resume. It gives me the confidence needed to continue to send out that applications like there’s no tomorrow.

I can’t thank you enough for all the kind, encouraging and uplifting comments you all have left for me. I truly appreciate them all!

What was the most exciting part of your day yesterday?

Clearly, mine was getting the email! 😉 But I also picked up some new protein powder that I’m excited to try out today – review to come!

Stupid Address.

7 Jul

Happy Hump Day, bloggies! Those 3-day weekends sure do make the week fly by!

I thought I’d take some time this morning to further explain my journey in job searching.

As you all know, I’m currently living in Maryland and searching for a job in California. Because of the internet, it’s been rather easy to search for jobs. In fact, I’ve applied to 10 so far! I’m very proud of myself for that.

However, there is one problem that I believe is truly hurting my chances.

I have a Maryland address.

Not a California address.

I honestly think the recruiters for these jobs are looking at my contact information, seeing a Maryland address, and tossing my application aside.

Here’s the thing that’s even more frustrating. The husband and I know where we’re living. However, we won’t get our address until we show up to move in. He even called yesterday to see if we could get a temporary address. Nope. Isn’t that a little crazy?!

So what does this little road bump do to my job hunting quest?

Well, at first I was rather frustrated and completely disappointed. But then I realized that I can’t change this situation, so I’m just going to forge ahead and still apply to all the jobs that I possibly can.

I know that something will eventually work out. I know that I am doing all I can in this job hunt. I know that’s all I can ask of myself. *deep sigh*

In other Three Months news, I had a ballin’ workout yesterday! I’ll be heading to Body Pump shortly and am looking forward to it! I’m really glad I got the 3-month gym membership…it’s been a great distraction to the frustrations of job hunting.

Ok, so I realize this was kind of a Debby Downer post. Let’s end on a good note…

What makes you happy?

I’ll go first: my husband, wine, ice cream, hand-written notes, to-do lists & random phone calls from friends.
