The 3-Month Challenge

23 Jun

Let me delve into the purpose behind this blog a little more. On September 20, I will be officially living in California (um, heck yeah!). It hit me this past weekend that the big day is only 3 months away. A mere 90ish days.

90 days to find a job. Ugh. It’s so frustrating searching for a job in a state where I don’t live. I’m up to my eyeballs in cover letters, online applications and my resume. Although technically my summer “job” is looking for a job in California, I can’t honestly search the web for job postings from 8-5 every.single.day. I need human interaction – this apartment gets so lonely. So I thought of something…

A gym membership. Perfect. There’s a fabulous Golds Gym just up the road – seriously, like 4 minutes away. They were offering a 3-month membership (hello, fate), so I quickly signed up.

So from June-September I’ll be taking as many group fitness classes as I can possibly manage. I do enjoy working out on my own, but it’s so EASY just having to show up and be told what to do. I love variety, so mixing up the different classes is just what I need.

I’ve had this membership for 3 days, and so far I’ve done a spinning class, a pilates class and Body Pump. I am determined to get my money’s worth! I’ll be writing about my gym experience because I know how intimidating it can be to join a new fitness class.

I hope to get my life in order these next three months, and this blog is a perfect way for me to track my progress. Here’s my ultimate goal: come September I will be employed and in shape. Then I’ll start a new three-month challenge. Oh, the possibilities!

If you have a blog, why did you start one?
